Registration has closed for Run The Farm and Kids Run The Farm 2011. We will not have walk-in registration. Online registration will close Thursday October 20, 2011 at 10am. We will not have walk in (same day) registration as the pre-registration numbers are already very high.  Run The Farm The Second Annual Run the Farm 5 mile trail race and Kids 1 mile/0.6 mile races will open for registration on July 25th, 2011 at 9am. The races will be held Oct 23, 2011 with kids races starting at 8:30am. All of the kids races will be completed before the 5 miler is started at 9:15am. Runners loved the scenic and tough 5 mile course. Kids were challenged with a great taste of the trails at Muscoot Farm in their very own race. The farmers at the market loved the energy (and the business!) that the race brought out that Sunday morning. This year ALL finishers (kids included) will receive “Farm Bucks” when they cross the finish line. Farm Bucks can be used at the Muscoot Farmer’s Market on the day of the race. Response has been tremendous and we have over 650 runners registered for the inaugural race. Kids race course maps are available here. If your child is registered there will be 2 different heats, both starting at the same place.
We strongly encourage parents (or older siblings not running the 1.1 mile kids race) to run with the 3-5 year olds. 6 year olds can go it alone at parents discretion. There will be trail marshalls throughout the course to guide the kids on the right path. Both kids races must be finished before the 5 miler starts since the courses intersect. All races finish at the same location which is right next to the start line for the 5 mile race so parents and other runners can form a cheering section when they come in for the big finish. Continue reading … Dear Trail runners and Leatherman’s Loop enthusiasts,We are very close to needing to close down the registration for both the Run The Farm 5 miler and the Kids Run The Farm 1.1 and .65 miler. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer same day registration for either event. Support for this first ever trail race at Muscoot Farm has been off the charts and reflects a high level of trust in the event organizers. For that we are honored and will do our best to please.
