Run the Farm is a 5 mile trail race to be held at Muscoot Farm in Katonah/Somers, NY on October 21st, 2012.
Race start times:
- 8:30AM Kids race
- 9:15AM Run The Farm

Arrive at least 30 minutes before race start to park, get race bib, pick up shirt (if ordered), and get oriented and warmed up!
The race is put on to show off the beauty of the Muscoot park and to increase awareness of the weekly Muscoot Farmer's market (Sundays from May-October) and other local farmer's markets in the area.

By admin, on October 4th, 2010%  The registration for Kids Run the Farm is closed with nearly 200 kids pre-registered. The response has been fantastic and we are looking forward to a great kids race! The 5 mile race is still open but will close for registrations soon.
Kids race course maps are available here. If your child is registered there will be 2 different heats, both starting at the same place.
- The first start will be PROMPTLY at 8:30am for the 7-12 year olds on the 1.1 mile course.
- The second start will be 5 minutes later on the 0.65 mile course for the 3-6 year olds.
We strongly encourage parents (or older siblings not running the 1.1 mile kids race) to run with the 3-5 year olds. 6 year olds can go it alone at parents discretion.
There will be trail marshalls throughout the course to guide the kids on the right path.
Both kids races must be finished before the 5 miler starts since the courses intersect.
All races finish at the same location which is right next to the start line for the 5 mile race so parents and other runners can form a cheering section when they come in for the big finish. Continue reading …

We are very close to needing to close down the registration for both the Run The Farm 5 miler and the Kids Run The Farm 1.1 and .65 miler. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer same day registration for either event. Support for this first ever trail race at Muscoot Farm has been off the charts and reflects a high level of trust in the event organizers. For that we are honored and will do our best to please.

Thanks to all who have signed up to date. We see lots of familiar names and lots of new ones as well. We are especially looking forward to the kids race at the farm. It will be a lot of fun!

Right now we don’t know what the response will be and we will keep everyone up to date on registration numbers as they come in. The farm has a fairly large capacity for crowds which we are excited about. See you at the Farm!

By admin, on August 12th, 2010% Runners: Thank you for your overwhelming response to our Run the Farm Survey. Of the 650+ people who responded, 80% (over 500) responded they would either “Definitely” or “Likely” be there. Another hundred were rated their participation “Possibly.” Over half of the respondents indicated that someone in their family would like to participate in a kids race the same day. So we are thinking it’s a go!
We received a lot of questions in the open ended part of the survey. Here are a selection of these comments and our responses to them regarding the planned “Run the Farm” 5 mile trail race and kids 1 mile race at Muscoot Farm on October 24, 2010.
A number of comments were similar so we condensed them or combined them over one response. If you have any other questions, let us know. Your ideas and feedback have already given us great ideas and encouragement.
Note: Some commenters mistakenly thought that we were asking for opinions about a Fall Leatherman’s Loop. Just to be clear—that is not under consideration.
We are developing this new trail race at Muscoot to get people running trails locally and to help get the word out about local farms and farmer’s markets.
